This story is about an ex-angel, a fallen angel if you will, who falls to earth in New Orleans & becomes a PI.—getting a lot of jobs from a priest. Xavier’s best friend and room mate is a shape shifter, named Minx, who came to his rescue when he fell from heaven. There are 2 stories happening during this book—one is about a dangerous drug that is not only so addictive, it changes people into Zombies—a drug that will destroy all the people on earth & Xavier has to find a way to stop it from happening. The second story line is Xavier trying to find out what happened to an old love of his that got him kicked out of heaven.I won’t tell you the story as so many others have already done so and they do a better job than I could so I will just tell you what I think of the story. I found it a different concept than most angel stories I have read and found it interesting. What I did not like about the story is the foul mouth of the fallen angel—especially when he threw out the F-bombs. I can’t imagine an angel, even a fallen angel, using this kind of language. No angel would have used this kind of language in heaven so how come it came so easily to him once he got to earth? For that alone I had to deduct 2 stars.
This is a stand alone story. I got it with my Kindle Unlimited so you won’t see verified purchase at the top of my review.

Knight Fall edition by Angela Henry Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
What a truly wonderful creative story by Ms. Angela Henry! I usually avoid mystery suspense filled thriller action/adventure books but this book is a little different making me nominate it for kindle scout there is a strong paranormal aspect to the book besides angels good/bad, archangels, shape shifters, vampires and other supernatural beings which made me love reading this book! Plus the world and the supernatural creatures seemed very real! Yes the place was pretty easy to imagine New Orleans even the Superdome just makes me want to actually see if there is an EA agency hidden in the basement! Ms. Henry described the flavor of the place, sights and sounds that I felt as if I was actually there. Even all the paranormals creatures that were written about were just fascinating and were more real that I could really see them in my mind’s eye too. What really drew me to it was the fallen angel Xavier.
Xavier is a guardian angel that has broken the rules by falling in love so is being cast out of heaven and is no longer a guardian. Xavier a fallen angel is now on earth as a human private detective in New Orleans trying to forget his other life by avoiding trouble but still it follows him especially in the case of an addicting supernatural drug. Xavier must stop it but will need help from other worldly beings too.
***Minor Spoilers***
Despite Xavier crassness, sarcasm and human shortcomings there was just something intriguing about him I totally kept hoping all things would work out for him and that his love Desi or Eva ended up together would have a happily ever after or that Xavier would be granted back into heaven but the ending was nice. I even liked the minor characters I wanted more of the cat shifter Minx and David the electricity welding guy wow what a power. I hope Ms. Henry makes this not a standalone novel because I seriously care about all of these characters. I still rated this book five stars, will reread this book again, can recommend it and yes I would read more of Ms. Henry’s books especially in this series if there is more!
Knight's Fall brings the "noir" back to urban fantasy. But rather than a hard-boiled detective we get an angel with heaven's boot print on his ass from when he was kicked out. While the femme fatale is now a hard-as-nails police detective who was once someone else. Intrigued yet? You should be! Things go awry when a narcotic that makes meth look like really aggressive cotton candy hits the streets and the shockwaves keep spiraling outward. Despite the dark streets and darker minds that inhabit this story the writing is so vivid you hear, see, and experience every moment.
I loved this book and cannot wait for Xavier and his squad to catch another case (so I can go along for the ride).
I didn't know what to expect with this book, I'm pretty sure I got it one month as my First book. While the book starts off kind of slow it quickly picks up the pace and becomes a thrilling roller coaster you never want to get off of. The characters were compelling and well written, I literally didn't want to put this book down for want of knowing what would happen next. The way this world was created, intertwining the natural and the supernatural was inspiring. It's very rare we get to see things from the perspective of the presumed "bad guys", which in this case happened to the supernatural creatures, but it's very clear where the lines in the sand are drawn and how each side feels about the other. If there are more books in this series, I will definitely be buying the next installment.
I don’t usually read books on devices; but since I like Angela Henry’s writing, I made an exception this time. And I’m glad I did. What a character Xavier Knight is—a creation in the vein of 1930s comic book detectives The Spectre (a dead detective) or The Spirit (who was presumed dead). Haunting New Orleans cemeteries, probably the most interesting in the world, seems to be Knight’s specialty; and the book is chock full of angel/demon lore. I love this stuff.
From Knight’s struggles after being thrown out of heaven, to his encounters with several beautiful women and the nefarious drug NeCro, to the surprising ending, I enjoyed every virtual page of this fascinating, well-written story. Angela Henry has another winner here!
